Welcome to CHArt
Art therapy for clinicians
CHArt is a research study looking at the use of art therapy with hospital clinicians. The aim is to see if a group art therapy intervention developed at Barts Hospital is helpful for clinicians who may be experiencing work related stress or be at risk of burnout.
Interested clinicians were invited to participate in a dynamic series of art therapy – based workshops. (6 weekly workshops of 60 – 90 minutes).
The workshops were piloted at Barts Health NHS Trust and received excellent feedback from clinicians who took part (see feedback page).
The study is funded by the Barts Charity and is sponsored by Barts Health NHS Trust. CHArt is co-ordinated by the Unit for Social and Community Psychiatry, (a WHO Collaborating Centre for Mental Health Services Development) within the Wolfson Institute of Population Health, Queen Mary University of London.
Megan Tjasink, QMUL Research Fellow and Lead Art Psychotherapist in Cancer Psychological Services, Barts Health NHS Trust is the researcher.
